3D Digital design was out in force for the 2014 ImagineRIT festival! We hosted multiple showcases:

The Virtual Arcade in 3D Digital Design studio 7A-A450
Students from Professor Foster’s Real Time Design class showcased their 3D game levels.

In the RIT Field house:
3D Preservation of the Buffalo State
Funded by a Digital Humanities Grant, it featured a real-time 3D environment with assets built with Autodesk Maya and run through Unreal 4 engine. Asylum
This project which featured multiple 3DDD Students: Nick Burkhart, Deanna Giovinazzo, Michael Borba, Richard Bora and Eric Kimberly with Professors Shaun Foster (3DDD) and Lisa Hermsen (Digital Humanities) and Jason Fitch (GDC)
Path’s Flip Through History showcased work in progress on an regional Augmented Reality Tourism Grant from NY State.
Examples of the Augmented Reality components were showcased by Matt Tidridge and Nika Samsonenko and Professor Shaun Foster, and hats were given out!
This grant produced an app, downloadable from the Apple Store (early June release see flipforhistory.com) which features trivia, and a digital scavenger hunts inside twelve regional tourist site: Arcade and Attica Railroad, Clara Barton House, Ganondagan State Historic Site, George Eastman House, Historic Palmyra, Jell-O Gallery and Museum, Medina Roalroad Museum, National Susan B. Anthony Museum, Rochester Museum and Science Center, Seneca Falls Museum, Sonnenberg Gardens and the Women’s Rights National Historical Park
Augmented Reality for the VIP Badges RIT as well as demonstrations given inside the VIP Tent. Created by 3DDD students Deanna Giovinazzo, Nic Burkhardt, Natalie Alfke, Melissa Chiu. The helpers at the event were Zoe Warner, Melissa Chiu, Jaegan Wong, Sean Vallee, facilitated by Professors David Halbstein & Shaun Foster.
