Autodesk sponsors the annual worldwide celebration of computer graphics on the 3rd of December.  This year, multiple 3D Digital Design (3DDD) students and faculty were involved in hosting an event held at RIT in Web Auditorium from 2:30-5:30PM on Friday December 6th.    The event was co-sponsored by Autodesk, RITGraph, the student SIGGRAPH Chapter, (3DDD student) and the Rochester Professional SIGGRAPH Chapter.


RITGraph Chapter President Alex Berkowitz made opening announcements with 3DDD Professor and Autodesk animation user group association (AAUGA) David Halbstein, President.

The program kicked-off with top 3D Computer Animations shown from the SIGGRAPH 2013 Asia reel.  The event then featured two speakers:  Sarah Hanson and Marty Havran.

Sarah Hanson, an RIT Alumnus ( was invited by Professor Shaun Foster and RITGraph Student Chapter club adviser to come and speak at the event.  Sarah Hanson spoke on the 2D and 3D graphics done for the upcoming documentary which will air on ABC in January as well as her Freelance work for Mattel, Fisher Price and Hasbro.


The next talk was given by Marty Havran (who skyped-in), who was invited by David Halbstein.  Marty is an industry veteran who has worked on multiple films, who has done 3D computer models for numerous film including Godzilla, Starship Troopers, Hollo Man, Stewart Little (

The event was attended by over 100 people.
